Mason Greenwood Remains Behind Bars
Suspended Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood, has been remanded into custody following a court appearances related to charges of attempted rape and sexual assault.
Since January, 21-year-old Greenwood has been on bail after he was initially detained on suspicion of rape and assault. However, he was re-arrested in Trafford last Saturday, 15 October for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.
The first arrest was prompted after a woman – who, under English law, remains anonymous – posted images and videos on Instagram, declaring them as evidence of the suspended forward’s alleged physical violence against her.
On Monday, 17 October, Greenwood appeared in Manchester Magistrates’ Court where he confirmed his identity and address. District Judge Mark Hadfield then adjourned the proceedings before having him remanded into custody.
Greenwood will spend a month in custody until he makes his scheduled appearance at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on 21 November.
